In it he traces the events that led to his literary career, beginning with his boyhood when he would become fixated on objects as different as plants and pianos. Wherever his focus fell, he would study the subject voraciously. Eventually books became his passion, which naturally led to writing. Chapter 9 deals with the various kinds of surface deterioration in machine components. It is well written and organized very well in a structured manner. The author briefly discusses how to estimate the unidirectional and bi-directional traffic matrices, how to calculate estimated link bandwidths, and how to do MPLS LVC sizing. Gide has no time for notion that children are innocent. I find myself forgetting from time to time that he's from a different period, or that he's a "great writer."
