What an achievement. My favorite parts of the book are Steadman's photographic reconstructions of Vermeer's paintings. Sexual promiscuity, rebellion against authority, conversion, differing interpretations of divine message, and parental concern are all major themes in this book that continue to carry a heavy weight in modern cultural conflicts. Shipped pretty fast.. As I turned each page I felt a peace descend upon me and relief that I am not the only oneI felt I was in a therapy session.
