Always been curious about Chinese porcelain, but after having seen this book on Amazon and reading about the collection of Sir Percival David it makes a difference learning about how this man learned, studies and had a great eye for Chinese porcelain, indeed it takes one years to develop a certain eye of knowing the real thing from the fake, it took years of study I am sure but it is also true that the man must have had an eye for the BEST of the BEST.. While there are many pretty pictures of rare items, the book is of limited value to a collector of today in a market awash with reproductions. The is a catalog of a fine old collection made by a wealthy collector. A beautiful book!! The photographs of the clothes are outstanding, and the price was great.. good. Super nice book and beautifully illustrated A+A+A+. The odds of finding such items today except in in a few international auctions is probably less than being struck by lightning - on a clear day.
