Hebrews, the second of eighteen volumes in the Paideia commentary series, brings the insight of a veteran teacher and writer to bear on a New Testament book whose rich imagery and memorable phrases have long shaped Christian discourse. The Paideia series approaches each text in its final, canonical form, proceeding by sense units rather than word by word or verse by verse. Each sense unit is explored in three sections: (1) introductory matters, (2) tracing the train of thought, (3) key hermeneutical and theological questions. The commentaries shed fresh light on the text while avoiding idiosyncratic readings, attend to theological meaning without presuming a specific theological stance in the reader, and show how the text uses narrative and rhetorical strategies from the ancient educational context to form and shape the reader.

As I turned each page I felt a peace descend upon me and relief that I am not the only oneI felt I was in a therapy session. Because they’re telling him to save the life of a woman who will then spend the rest of her life living off the blood of others. Alexander is certainly a better writer than I am, in that at least she has finished several novels and had them published, which I have not yet even begun to accomplish. This is a great guide for a sermon series through the book of Hebrews. While the homes highlighted in this book are way out of my budget limits, they are beautiful and offer interesting ideas and ways to dream.. It is assumed that the reader has had courses in statics, dynamics, strength of materials, and material science. As background, I'm a retired professional investment advisor, have been through the Chartered Financial Analyst curriculum, and
